Born in Europe and raised in South Africa, Deb Wahl, proprietor of Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery, is a well-traveled oenophile who has had the opportunity to taste many of the world’s finest wines. Deb brought that experience and her passion for winegrowing to the Verde Valley, where she and her son Florian, Oak Creek Vineyard’s winemaker, have learned, literally from the ground up, the unique characteristics of viniculture in northern Arizona.
Our white wines – Chardonnay, Fume Blanc, Pinot Gris and Grenache Blanc – are crisp and refreshing, with vivid aromas and flavors made to accompany and complement food. Fermented entirely in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, they see little or no oak in order to preserve their fresh, pure fruit flavors.
Our red wines – Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah and two proprietary blends (Arizona Lady and The Fire) – are sumptuous, smooth and fruit-forward with layers of complex aromas and flavors that linger on the palate. Delicious on their own or paired young with hearty foods or aged to achieve a mellow richness.
Our two delicious dessert wines – Cream Sherry and Port – are considered among the best of their type in Arizona. Fortified with brandy, they’re sweet and luscious and best enjoyed in small amounts after dinner, either on their own or paired with desserts, nuts and complementary cheeses.
