ALMONDS ARE IN BLOOM!

Spectacular sight to see… Almond Trees in bloom.
We have 50 trees and every flower will become a fruit. The almond, which is called the meat, grows in a shell. The shell is covered by a husk, which in the beginning is plum and fuzzy, but gets dry towards the end. Around the end of August, it breaks open just before harvest. It takes “girl” trees and “boy” trees for cross-pollination, and they produce soft shell and hard shell meat (almonds).
Every year, we harvest about 500 pounds of almonds, dry-roast them to preserve their great taste, and sell out very fast. Make sure you stop by our Tasting Room and sample our fine wines and stay tuned for more updates on our new wines, old favorites, and our almond crop!
